Section on Women's Health Compendium
Combined Sections Meetings of the APTA

The Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) of the American Physical Therapy Association is the major meeting for the Section on Women’s Health. Each year CSM lectures are attended by approximately 5,000 PTs. This year’s meeting is especially exciting with the addition of the Online Compendium of meeting notes.

The Online Compendium will be available for ALL APTA members (30,000) to down load before, during, or after attending CSM (from January to July). Even those not attending are expected to take advantage of the meeting notes. This provides a significant increase in exposure for your advertisement. The Compendium will be located on the Section web site.

The CSM Women’s Health Program Book is a bound collection of resources for Section members, schedules, meeting announcements, note paper and advertisements. It will be available at the Section on Women’s Health booth free of charge to all attendees. We expect 400 to 500 copies to be distributed.

  • There are several new opportunities to support the Section:
    • Display ads will appear in the Program book and the Online Compendium
    • Business card ads will only appear in the Program book
    • Web banner
    • Sponsorship

All advertisers will be recognized at the Section booth, at all Section meetings, and in the Section on Women’s Health Journal (April issue).

Section on Women's Health
Regional Educational Course Sponsorship

Donation Opportunities for Regional Courses

The Section on Women’s Health has a very active educational calendar. We currently have three methods for vendors to support these courses.

  1. Donation of funds for breaks $400 per course
  2. Donation of equipment to be used in the lab portion of the course
  3. Donation of materials to be given to the participants

Donation of funds for breaks

  1. Donations are being accepted for sponsorship of break food at courses. Please contact Bernadette Kamin at 847-384-6804 or bkamin@kaminpt.com if you are interested in donating.
  2. Funds should be received before the course date.
  3. Section will list all sponsors in course manual with verbal acknowledgement by the instructor at the time of the course.
  4. Sponsoring vendors will receive a copy of the course participant list.

Donation of equipment to be used in regional courses

Many Section courses have lab experiences that may be enhanced by the use of quality equipment. It is not the intent of the SoWH to showcase multiple pieces of equipment at the regional courses. Equipment will be accepted for the purpose of enhancing learning. The following applies to equipment used by participants in courses. Acceptance does not imply endorsement.

  1. Interested vendors should contact Bernadette Kamin by phone at 847-384-6804 or email at bkamin@kaminpt.com with the following information:
    1. item(s) to be donated
    2. course(s) and appropriate usage
    3. number of units per course
  2. The instructors will then be contacted to discuss how items can be integrated. It is up to the individual instructor(s) to determine appropriateness of equipment.
  3. If a piece of equipment is approved, a vendor agreement will be sent / faxed for completion and signature. Agreements will need to be renewed each year.
  4. Amanda Duarte will forward shipping information to the vendor two weeks before the course date. It is necessary for you to speak personally with Amanda Duarte with in two weeks of the course to insure the equipment will be sent.
  5. You should notify the course site of shipping date and number of boxes to be expected.
  6. It is essential that all participants are able to use the equipment. Amount of equipment is determined on an individual basis between the vendor and the instructor. You may call Amanda Duarte 800-999-2782 x8506 up to one week before the course to get the current number of participants. Vendors must provide enough devices for all participants as outlined by the contract.
  7. Shipping to and from the course is the responsibility of the vendor. Pre-paid shipping labels should be included in the shipment. The SoWH will not take responsibility for equipment lost, stolen, or damaged.
  8. Section will list all sponsors in course manual with verbal acknowledgement by the instructor at the time of the course.
  9. Sponsoring vendors will receive a copy of the course participant list.

Donation of materials or equipment to be given out at regional courses

Vendors may donate equipment and/or written materials to be given out to participants. The following applies to material and equipment not used in the course.

  1. Interested vendors should call Bernadette Kamin at 847-384-6804 or email at bkamin@kaminpt.com with the following information:
    1. item(s) to be donated
    2. appropriate course(s)
    3. number of units per course
  2. The instructors will then be contacted to determine the appropriateness of the materials. Instructors may request a sample be sent before a decision is given. It is up to the individual teacher(s) to determine appropriateness of materials.
  3. Amanda Duarte will provide vendors information on mailing location and number of expected participants upon request.
  4. Shipping to the course is the responsibility of the vendor. Materials left over after the course will be discarded. Remaining materials or equipment will not be shipped back to the vendor.
  5. The SoWH will not take responsibility for equipment lost, stolen, or damaged.

Section on Women's Health
Product Reviews & Endorsements

The SOWH is pleased to accept applications for endorsement of products. The Section’s endorsement of a product indicates to the physical therapy profession and the general public that a product was reviewed and found to be worthy of consideration for use.

Our endorsement does not imply endorsement by the American Physical Therapy Association, our parent association. In addition, we do not endorse companies, only products. Our endorsements are not exclusive.

Please email Laura Bittencourt for application and information.
