Instructed by Carina Majzun, PT, DPT, the didactic portion of this course will allow the participant to learn about the development of the pelvic floor through the early life span. Early development of bladder and bowel control will be covered for both typically developing and developmentally disabled children. Common neurological dysfunctions will be discussed as well as bowel and bladder training for the neurologically disabled child. Common dysfunctions of teenagers such as amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea and pediatric pelvic pain will also be discussed. Treatment of bladder and pelvic floor dysfunction in children and teenagers will be covered including the use of sEMG biofeedback with an interactive lab portion.
