Section on Women’s Health (SoWH) is committed to promoting quality education for our members, led by members. We are accepting Course Proposal Applications and CVs/Resumes from members that would like assistance in developing and teaching a course, with the benefits of being mentored by an experienced and knowledgeable SOWH member. If you have a solid course idea and want to become an emerging educational leader, please click below to tell us about yourself and propose your course!
- Submit a course idea, course content, agenda, and completed application.
- Review the feedback provided by the Education Review Committee and implement recommended changes.
- Work together with the Education Review Committee mentor to define hosting needs whether the course is in-person or online.
Developing a course through the Section gives more promotional exposure to you as an author, instructor, and physical therapist professional.
The Section’s Education Review Committee reviews your course content and gives you tips and suggestions on how to improve your course content to ensure that the course material is evidence-based and suitable for Section/APTA members and non-members that pursue continuing education through the Section and APTA.
We have the ability to promote courses to 3,000+ physical therapists domestically and internationally through our periodic e-mail blast promotions, social media channels, the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy, and through our connections with other components of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). We handle the course registration and administration process, online exam administration, certificate generation and periodical outreach to registered course participants for online and live courses. For live courses, we provide meeting space for the duration of the course. For online courses, we provide an online space via a Learning Management Platform so that all the course participants are able to complete all the course modules online and obtain a certificate of completion after the course. We keep all course participant completion records at our office.
