 McLean, Va. The Section on Women’s Health–a professional association of nearly 3,000 physical therapists devoted to improving women’s and men’s health globally–has elected the following five volunteers to serve three-year terms from 2018 to 2021:

President: Carrie Pagliano, PT, DPT, WCS, OCS, MTC

Treasurer: Uchenna Ossai, PT, DPT, CLT, WCS

Director of Education: Jennifer Davia, PT, DPT, WCS

Director of Resesarch: Meryl Alappattu, PT, DPT, PhD

Nominating Committee Member: Cheryl Wisinski, PT, DPT, WCS

“We are thrilled we had such a competitive slate of outstanding candidates dedicated to serving the Section,” says SOWH President Patricia Wolfe, PT.  “We thank the Nominating Committee, as well as the nominees, for their hard work. The Section is fortunate to have a cadre of such high-level volunteers to tap for other key leadership opportunities.”

New board leaders will be sworn into their positions at the 2018 SOWH Business Meeting in February in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Section is affiliated with the American Physical Therapy Association.


The Section on Women’s Health-American Physical Therapy Association (SOWH) is a professional membership association of 3,000+ physical therapists treating patients across the life span and around the globe. Members provide the latest evidence-based physical therapy services to everyone from young athletes and childbearing women to peri-menopausal mothers and men with pelvic health complications. In addition to a major focus on providing top-quality continuing education, the Section provides networking opportunities, access to peer-reviewed research, inclusion in a popular PT Locator directory, and lab training in women’s health instructed by leading physical therapists nationwide.
