Pregnancy & Postpartum Special Interest Group (PPSIG)
Join the brand-new PPSIG! The PPSIG will provide a forum to connect physical therapists from a variety of clinical disciplines that promotes networking and cross-leveling of information about musculoskeletal evaluation, treatment, and wellness during and after pregnancy.
PPSIG is a SoWH community of professionals having a common interest in the evaluation, treatment, and wellness of pregnant and postpartum women. The PPSIG will provide a space where this community may meet, confer, and promote these interests through education, clinical practice, and research.
- Provide a forum to connect Physical Therapists from a variety of clinical disciplines (and including clinicians, academicians, and researchers) that promotes connection and cross-leveling of information and educates physical therapists about the perinatal period.
- Foster physical therapy management of musculoskeletal evaluation, treatment, and wellness during and after pregnancy based upon scientific evidence.
- Facilitate interaction with other healthcare professionals who care for women during and after pregnancy.
- Provide an outreach tool to allow SIG members to educate mothers, physical therapists from a variety of disciplines, and other healthcare and wellness professionals.
