This course will give the participants an overview and the latest update on evidence for topics related to physical therapy for the pelvic floor. Specifically the course will be covering evidence based on randomized controlled trials of pelvic floor muscle training of pelvic floor muscle training for pelvic organ prolapse and urgency urinary incontinence and in prevention and treatment of urinary incontinence during pregnancy and after childbirth. Recently, there has been a lot of focus on alternative exercises to pelvic floor muscle training to prevent and treat stress urinary incontinence. Professor Kari Bø is a Physical Therapist and a world-expert in Exercise Science at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Department of Sports Medicine in Oslo, Norway. Her main area of interest and research is pelvic floor function and dysfunction, Exercise Science and women’s health. She has published numerous articles, videos and books about the pelvic floor, fitness, pregnancy, physical activity and women’s health. Kari is considered to be the lead international expert of pelvic floor muscle training and is a popular presenter all over the world.
